Campaigners calling for a school lollipop patrol to be reinstated ambushed a county council boss and MP outside a Women's Institute meeting.
Marie Atkinson and Linda Kennedy found out Rodney Bass, county council cabinet member for highways, and MP Priti Patel were visiting Great Totham to address the group, so waited outside for them to arrive to present their petition.
The pair collected between 200 and 300 signatures from villagers who are concerned the last lollipop lady, who retired more than a year ago, has not been replaced.
