Trained first aider Luke Songer, 21, put his life-saving skills into action for the first time when he came across a man collapsed underneath a car in Holloway Road, Heybridge.

Luke, an electrical mechanical apprentice at Youngman Group in The Causeway, Heybridge, flagged down a passing driver and asked her to dial 999 while he started chest compressions and mouth to mouth resuscitation.
