They are just some of the fascinating pictures available to the public on the The Britain from Above website.
The collection includes 1.26 million negatives and more than 2,000 photograph albums, spanning 1919 to 2006.
The website was launched by English Heritage and the Royal Commissions on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Wales.
