A Slimming World group leader says she has ‘immense pride’ in her group after a slimathon led to 25 stone weight loss and raised thousands for a life-saving machine.
Emma Chapman, 43, of Clayton Way, Maldon, leads the 6pm Slimming World group in Heybridge, with 100 members.
She said: “I am absolutely thrilled, their efforts were phenomenal.”
During their six week ‘Slim for Good’ slimathon, the group lost 25 stone and raised £2,820 for charity.
The group were shedding the pounds to raise money for a life-saving machine for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The machine, an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine (ECMO), acts like an artificial lung to pump oxygen into the blood.
