Primary school children were taken to the Houses of Parliament as a special treat.
Thirteen children from years four, five and six at Tolleshunt Darcy St Nicholas Primary School were chosen to go on the trip as a reward for showing an excellent attitude towards learning.
The visit was to explore what it means to be a citizen and how people are represented in Parliament.
Children explored the House of Lords and saw where the Queen goes when she opens Parliament.
