Developers behind plans for up to 120 homes are appealing after councillors rejected their application.

Linden Partnerships and Dartmouth Park Estates wanted to build the new estate next to Maldon Wick Nature Reserve, off Wycke Hill, in Spital Road, Maldon.

The 2.9-hectare site already houses the former Three Suns Nursery, a riding school and three homes.

It is also in an area earmarked for 1,375 homes in Maldon District Council’s Local Development Plan, which has yet to be approved by a planning inspector.

Full story in Thursday's Maldon Standard.
