Neknomination, the world-wide drinking craze, has been slammed by the people of Maldon.
On Sunday 9 February, Isaac Richardson, 20, formerly of Tolleshunt Knights, died after downing a mixture of wine and spirits.
Peer pressure and the widespread use of social media have combined to create a game that leads people to try to beat their friends.
Nicky Hadley, 44, landlady of The Queen Victoria, Maldon, has ridiculed the craze.
She said: “It’s ridiculous.
“We wouldn’t allow it to happen here."
