MALDON AND TIPTREE footballers are collecting old equipment and kit for Zimbabwean street children and orphans to develop their own footballing talents at the Zimbabwe Soccer Academy.
Mr Lakin said: “Although we’ve only been involved in the appeal for a week or so after we were asked to help, we want to make as many people as possible aware of it.
He added: “A lot of waste happens in the world. I used hand-me-downs when I was young, and I think it’s important it goes to these children and they get to develop their talents with our help.”
Anyone who wants to help can take items to Maldon and Tiptree's home games on Saturdays.
