Rail campaigners hope their dream of a new railway line in Maldon will come true, after 23 years of waiting.
Witham and Braintree Rail Users Association hope to one day see a line connecting the town to either South Woodham Ferrers or Hatfield Peverel.
It is also listed on the Campaign for Transport's list of lines that should be reopened.
The rail association hopes to include the project in the bidding process for when a new operator is chosen to run the Greater Anglia franchise.
