A driver was arrested after a police chase from Maldon to Chelmsford.

A police helicopter was drafted in to track a grey Volvo, which failed to stop for police in the Fullbridge area of Maldon in the early hours of yesterday.

It was eventually stopped in Baddow Hall Avenue, Great Baddow, just before 12.30am.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers on suspicion of drugs offences, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

He was bailed pending further inquiries to March 9.
