An inspirational woman has broken two world records and set a third, becoming the fastest female to complete marathons in all seven continents.
Fiona Oakes, of Tillingham Road, Asheldham, also broke the course record when she ran to victory in the last of the races, the Antarctic Ice Marathon, last week.
Subject to validation by Guinness World Records, Miss Oakes will hold the records for the fastest woman to complete a marathon on each continent, as well as the North Pole (in both elapsed time and aggregate time), and the fastest woman to complete a marathon on each continent (aggregate time).
The feat is even more incredible as the 43-year-old only has one kneecap, having lost the right one after a severe injury as a teenager.
