Pub giant Wetherspoons has ditched plans to open in former post office premises because of a ban on opening two windows.
The decision has come as a blow to Wetherspoons fans and those who had been keen to apply for one of the 37 new jobs that would have been created by the firm.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “Unfortunately Wetherspoon has pulled out of the plan to develop the former post office in Maldon."
