The crash happened on Friday, January 12, at around 6pm in Ipswich Road, Colchester, and resulted in the motorcyclist coming off their vehicle about 50 metres away from the junction between Ipswich Road and Upland Drive.
Emergency services including Essex Police and National Highways are in attendance at the A12 northbound which has been shut under junction 18.
