VENUES in the Maldon district will be hosting events aimed to bring officers and residents closer together.

The Maldon town police team will be holding multiple 'Let’s Talk' events at locations across the district.

One event will take place at the Dementia Café in St Cuthbert’s Church, Burnham-on-Crouch on Wednesday, April 10, from 11am to 1pm.

The Plantation Hall in Heybridge, Maldon will host a “Let’s Talk” event on Monday, April 22, from 7pm to 8pm.

Community In a Cup, at the United Reformed Church, in Market Hill, will be the venue for an event on Tuesday, April 30, from 10am to 12noon.

Tea Rooms in High Street, Southminster, will have a 'Let’s Talk' event on Wednesday, May 8, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “This is an opportunity to get to know some of the police officers and staff, who are protecting and serving your community.

“Police officers or police community support officers (PCSOs) will be available to listen to your community concerns and answer your questions about local policing.

“Please note that the event may be cancelled at short notice due to operational demands, details of which will be posted on the district’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
