A YACHT club has raised £600 through charity calendars to support lifeboat rescue services.

Royal Burnham Yacht Club commodore Will Dallimore collected £600 from an annual charity initiative to donate to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

The RNLI's Atlantic 85 and D-Class lifeboats moored up at the yacht club's pontoon for the presentation of the cheque.

The money was raised from the sale of the club's 2023 charity calendar.

Mr Dallimore said: "We were delighted to be able to support our RNLI with the sale of our first charity calendar, and we are looking forward to more fundraising opportunities in 2023 to help support this vital charity.

"As a yacht club, safety on the water is very important to us.

"We wanted to show our appreciation for the volunteers who go out on the water, often in very difficult conditions, saving lives at sea.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

Daniel Rodwell, head of fundraising at Burnham on Crouch RNLI, said: "We are very grateful to the members of the Royal Burnham Yacht Club for their support.

"This is a fantastic amount of money and the funds raised will be used by the Burnham-on-Crouch lifeboat station towards operational running costs."
