A NEW takeaway opened its doors to customers at the weekend in a grand opening event.

Polash Islam and Sumon Ali have opened a new authentic Indian and peri-peri food takeaway in Heybridge.

The pair hosted a taster session at the new takeaway, Inaya's Kitchen, on Sunday, April 10.

Visitors were able to try out a selection of the owners' favourite items from the authentic kitchen's menu.

The takeaway was officially opened for business later in the day with the grand red ribbon being cut by Maldon District Council chairman Mark Heard.

Customers also enjoyed 50 per cent off the menu for collection orders as a special opening offer.

The opening event was hugely popular with visitors, with the bosses saying it had been busier than they'd ever anticipated.

Orders even had to be stopped for a short period of time to give staff a chance to catch up.

Inaya's Kitchen is located in The Street and will be open six days a week, closed on Tuesdays.

Its opening hours are 5pm to 10.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and 4.30pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
