A WOMEN'S social group has gone from strength to strength after launching just months ago.
Simply Social in Burnham has hosted a number of Christmas-themed events with great turnouts since having its first successful fundraiser for Breast Cancer Now.
The women's group enjoyed a coffee morning at The Swallowtail where 24 members attended.
Members also enjoyed a visit to Peacock’s Pottery Barn at Barleylands for a "thoroughly enjoyable" day’s painting and lunch.
They painted Christmas items which were fired and collected, ready to give to grandchildren and family as presents.
Instead of the usual monthly meeting in the United Reformed Church hall, the ladies instead met in the Oyster Smack for a Christmas lunch to end its first year as a new group.
Presents were handed out between friends and the pottery pieces collected to take home.

One member said: “That was an excellent lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed being with friends. It was a lovely way to start the Christmas season”.
The group meet again on Thursday, January 13 in Clark-Lewis Hall, United Reformed Church where its team looks forward to the start of a lively and, of course, social year.
