A SUCCESSFUL new social group in Burnham has raised hundreds at a special event for charity.
Burnham's new women's social group Simply Social launched in August and has gone from strength to strength proving popular as its welcomed more members.
In a special event this month the ladies met to raise vital funds for the Breast Cancer Now charity, which is dear to its member's hearts.
The charity funds research into the disease and provides support to patients and their families.
In order to raise as much as possible at the event there were a host of games, cakes, goods, books and clothes stalls.

There were also guessing games such as Guess the Name of the Teddy Bear, Game of Scones, Guess the Weight of the Bra – with pearl barley-filled cups – and a Tea quiz.
Breast Cancer Now had provided table top items explaining their work with bunting to decorate the games and sales tables.
Some thoughtful women had used the knitting pattern provided by the charity to make 15 "mug hugs", which were sent to Breast Cancer Now so it can sell these and raise more funds.
Organisers say it was a "very busy and fun-filled afternoon" which resulted in a "fantastic" £250.76 being raised.
A spokeswoman for Simply Social said: "Our grateful thanks go to local Burnham on Crouch businesses who kindly donated lovely prizes; Matrix Hair Art, SJ Warren Estate Agent, Joko Make-Up and Jolly Fryer.
"We are sure their generosity encouraged more people to play the games and raise even more money.
"The winners were very happy with their prizes and the charity was delighted to receive our donation.
"We know the money will be put to important use for more scientific research and vital support for those living with the condition."
The group also held a coffee morning at Bistro on the Quay in October and will be hosting the next on Thursday (November 4).
Its monthly meeting is on Thursday, November 11, and its next lunch is on Friday, November 26.
Two outings are planned including Peacock’s Pottery Barn’s Christmas painting day and Rochester Christmas Market.
