A letter published in this week's Maldon and Burnham Standard urges Essex County Council not to build on a much-loved green space:
IF you walk to Primrose Meadow, Mundon Road on a Saturday, you will see dozens of children playing football, being coached and getting exercise outside, away from the Play Station.
You’ll notice dog walkers, people sitting talking, wildlife around and space and nature.
You’ll also notice signs on the fences that say ‘Stand Against Primrose Meadow Development’.
ECC wants to develop on the land.

Is it really needed that this green space, an environmental oasis and community asset needs to be built upon with all the housing and development in the district?
Once it is gone it’s gone.
And the hypocrisy of it all.
The Council declared a climate emergency and it wants to build on a well-used and needed green space?
I question the logic of those in positions that would even consider this madness.
Do what the signs say and save this area for us today and for future generations.
