Leeds’ impressive 4-1 win against Newcastle at Elland Road came against the grain after all nine previous Premier League fixtures at the weekend failed to produce a home win.
Not since September 23-24, 2000 have all home sides failed to collect three points in the same week’s fixture list, while such an occurrence has only happened on four occasions since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.
On Saturday, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland lost at home to Nottingham Forest, Ipswich and Arsenal respectively, Bournemouth and Chelsea drew 2-2 at home against Brentford and Hull, while Liverpool and Tottenham were held to goalless home draws by Fulham and Everton.

On Sunday, Brighton won 5-0 at newly-promoted Coventry and in the Manchester derby City ran out 1-0 winners at Old Trafford.
The last time this happened back in 2000, Charlton, Southampton and West Ham all won on the road, while seven of the other 10 matches ended in draws.
The previous two occasions were in December 1996 and on Boxing Day during 1993-94 season, which was the final campaign with 22 teams in the top flight before it was reduced to 20.
But there never looked like being another at Elland Road as Leeds swept into a 3-0 half-time lead and cruised to their second league win of the season.
