COLCHESTER United claimed their first win in 11 matches on Saturday night with a 2-1 triumph over Walsall.
Goals from Michael Folivi and Ryan Clampin secured the U's a precious win, after James Clarke had given the Saddlers the lead.
Colchester are now six points above the League Two relegation zone, with four games remaining.

Finally we get three points and a lifeline. Need to carry this on to Tuesday. We looked so much better and organised. The spirit was back and players looked up for the fight. Let’s do the same on Tuesday and ensure we beat Southend. The changes in the stating XI really worked.

Huge relief. Let’s hope the boys can build on that positivity and can replicate that level of performance on Tuesday night. Southend are not easy to breakdown and can make chances of their own. The nerves are building already!

At last a result that match the performance, kept Walsall at bay for a lot of the game, sloppy defending for Walsalls goal, Colchester was attacking the whole game with strong defending and should have scored more, 2 up front really helped, bring on Tues!
Jonathan Brown
Fantastic performance. Much better pressing & high tempo in the first half. Didn’t let going behind bother us & actually took some chances. Formation change worked. Excellent to see a rare win.
Matthew Blaylock
Best performance of 2021 and should have been a much more comfortable scoreline. We got players in better attacking areas and playing closer to each other in the final third. Slack defending at the set-piece (again) to concede, but Walsall hardly threatened other than that.
Oli Boylan
So happy to get the win. Sounded like the better team on the radio. Gives us a massive advantage going into Tuesdays game with a bit of confidence. How great would it be to send Southend down

Great performance. Full credit to the management team!

Points were more important than the performance today. But we got both. Great effort down to a man. Missing in recent weeks but in abundance today. Billed as a big match and this result may have saved the U's season.
David
I loved the passion today, we battled from the front through the team to get the ball back. Understandably sat back a little in second half to give us all panic attacks but brilliant, just brilliant. Up the U’s

Massive win we needed that and we fully deserved that although we should’ve won by more with the chances we had. That’s the best I’ve seen Colchester play in a while. Need to win on Tuesday now then we will be fine up the u’s
Sam Bastyan
Great performance! 4-4-2!!! Everything we've wanted. Need to keep the momentum and push on!!!!!!
Tristan Green
So so happy to be able to cheer and shout at the end of a game and not feel down for the rest of the weekend. I think half of north London heard me and my boy tonight up the u’s
Adam Kieran

Matthew Tedder

Massive massive win for the U's thought we fully deserved it unlucky not to score more but 3 points is 3 points a win is a win that's all that matters on to a massive game Tuesday night!
