NEARLY a decade ago, a host of future Premier League stars graced the JobServe Community Stadium.

Stuart Pearce led his England under-21 side to a 3-0 win over Lithuania at the home of Colchester United FC back in September, 2010.

A crowd of 7,240 flocked to the stadium to watch the Young Lions book a European Championship play-off spot.

FRANK FIELDING (BLACKBURN ROVERS)

CURRENTLY plying his trade for Championship club Millwall. Now has more than 350 league and cup appearances behind him, having played for eight different clubs to date.

KYLE WALKER (SPURS)

ATTACKING right-back has enjoyed a hugely successful career to date, having emerged through the youth set-up at Sheffield United and then moved to Spurs. Left Tottenham for Manchester City in 2017 for £45m, where he has won the League Cup three times, the Premier League twice and the FA Cup once. Has 48 senior England caps to date.

RYAN BERTRAND (CHELSEA)

CURRENTLY plays for Southampton in the Premier League, having joined them in the summer of 2014, initially on loan. Came through the youth ranks at Chelsea. Has more than 400 senior appearances under his belt, along with 19 senior England caps.

MICHAEL MANCIENNE (CHELSEA)

NOW playing in the MLS for New England Revolution. Has played for the likes of Nottingham Forest and Wolves along with Hamburg, in the Bundesliga.

CHRIS SMALLING (MANCHESTER UNITED)

HAS impressed on loan at AS Roma this season, having made the move to Serie A from Manchester United, where he won the Premier League twice along with the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup. Started his professional career at Fulham, after impressing in non-league. Has 31 senior England caps, to date.

PHIL JONES (BLACKBURN ROVERS)

CURRENTLY in his ninth season at Manchester United, having joined them from Blackburn Rovers in 2011. Has won the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup with United and has 27 senior England caps, to date.

TOM CLEVERLEY (MANCHESTER UNITED)

HAS been playing for Watford in the Premier League since the 2016-17 season. Prior to that, had represented the likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Leicester City, having started his career at Manchester United. Has 13 senior England caps, to date.

JORDAN HENDERSON (SUNDERLAND)

IS on the cusp of lifting the Premier League title as captain of Liverpool, this season. Has had a very successful career to date and won the Champions League with the Reds, last season. Started his career at Sunderland, where he was born. Has 55 England caps, to date.

DANNY ROSE (TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR)

The attacking left-back has been at Spurs since July, 2007 when he joined them from Leeds United. Has made more than 200 league and cup appearances for the Lilywhites but left to join Newcastle United on loan, in January. Has 29 senior England caps, to date.

DANNY WELBECK (MANCHESTER UNITED)

STARTED his career at Manchester United, where he won the Premier League and League Cup before leaving to join their Premier League rivals Arsenal, in September, 2014. He is currently playing for Watford, in the Premier League. Has 42 senior England caps - and 16 goals - to date.

DANIEL STURRIDGE (CHELSEA)

BEGAN his career at Manchester City and moved to Chelsea on a four-year deal in July, 2009. Collected Premier League, Champions League and two FA Cup medals while with the Blues before joining Liverpool in 2013. Most recently played for Turkish club Trabzonspor and has 26 England senior caps - and eight goals - to his name to date.
