THE extraordinary exploits of Clacton’s John Stuck have been written about in a new book called Stuck in the Middle.

Stuck has teamed up with respected Ipswich-based journalist Neal Manning to reflect on his lifetime in sport, which memorably includes playing both over-60s and over-70s cricket for England.

In fact, he actually has the distinction of being a double international, having been chosen to play badminton for England at the 2004 European Championships in Spain.

By the end of the summer of 2016, Stuck had scored 200 centuries since he first started out in club cricket in 1962.

He also played Minor Counties cricket for Suffolk.

Although born in Suffolk, Stuck has played most of his club cricket for Clacton, where he has plundered more than 43,000 runs.

Incredibly, his career total goes beyond the 100,000 mark.
