COLNE College Rugby Academy student Rob Oakley has signed a professional contract with Rugby League giants London Broncos.

The full-time student and player at the Colne Rugby Academy was selected to attend training with Broncos and, thanks to some excellent displays, earned himself a professional contract with the Rugby League club.

He will now play for Broncos' Under-19 Academy side, alongside his commitments at the Colne Academy.

Oakley is also taking his rugby coaching qualifications and is the third Colne Rugby Academy player to sign professional terms with London Broncos, following on from Will Blakemore and Dan Harding’s success.

Colne Rugby Academy head coach Pete LeMarquand said: "It’s all down to Rob’s hard work and open mindedness.

"We provided the pathway to our partner club London Broncos and he has stepped up and taking the opportunity."
