Heybridge Swifts 0 Wealdstone 1 Another damp Saturday at Scraley Road ended in a defeat for Wayne Bond’s side.

Swifts saw the return of Fisher, Passfield and Cutchey though Billy Hawes was out through suspension.

Swifts started brightly but the forward pairing of Bowyer and Reddaway had little chance to challenge Woods in the Stones goal.

Wealdstone took the lead in the 19th minute when Swifts were hesitant in defending a corner and O’Leary headed into the net past Morris-Sanders.

Swifts were kept to few chances during the half and Bond appeared close to making a substitution midway through the half as his Swifts side struggled to make any headway.

The visitors continued to break forward with increasing regularity and Swifts were perhaps fortunate to stay just the goal behind at the break — the visitors having one goal disallowed for a foul in the six-yard box.

Manager Bond made changes in the second half with Codling on for Reddaway and Brotherton for Rowe.

There was little for the Swifts faithful to cheer and their home side’s only real chances saw Reece Morgan’s long range effort saved by the keeper and another from Adam Passfield narrowly wide.

Wealdstone continued to hold the upper hand and on several occasions came close.

The defeat, followed by victories for both Harrow Borough and Hendon, has left Swifts once more bottom of the Ryman Premier Division.
