MALDON & Tiptree’s next two Pitching In Isthmian League Premier games have been postponed.

The league has tonight issued a statement confirming that they have decided to call off the Jammers’ next two games, following discussions with the club secretary.

As a result, Maldon & Tiptree’s scheduled games against Cray Wanderers, which was due to take place tomorrow and their Essex derby with Brentwood Town, due to be played on Bank Holiday Monday, will now not take place.

In a statement, the league said: ‘The Isthmian Football League can confirm it has decided to postpone Maldon & Tiptree’s next two league matches.

‘Following discussions with the Club Secretary, the games against Cray Wanderers (August 29) and Brentwood Town (August 31) will no longer be going ahead at this time.

‘There will be no further comment at this time.’

The news comes amid uncertainty regarding the club’s future, with the Jammers Fans Association (JFA) stating that they were aware a selection of supporters had received an email from the club’s representatives ‘regarding their intent to liquidate Maldon & Tiptree FC’.

The JFA said they have written to the Jammers and requested information and will provide an update as soon as possible.

Earlier this week, the JFA launched a crowdfunding appeal to give supporters a way to continue supporting the club.

The appeal comes amid a deeply uncertain period for Maldon & Tiptree, with the JFA saying supporters have been left facing an “impossible choice” between attending matches to support the management team and players, or staying away from home games amid concerns over where their money goes.

In a statement, the supporters’ group said: “Over the past few months, the fans of Maldon & Tiptree Football Club have had to deal with events that no football fan should have to confront.

“In fact, no human being should ever have to deal with these events.

“First and foremost, the thoughts of the JFA remain with everyone who has been affected by the ongoing criminal investigation involving Barrie and Scott Drewitt-Barlow.”

Barrie and Scott Drewitt-Barlow, who were involved in the club’s takeover in February 2025, deny the allegations they face.
