FORMER Colchester United striker Jamie Cureton has a new club.

The evergreen 50-year-old, who won the Championship Golden Boot in the U’s memorable 2006/07 season, has signed for Thurlow Nunn League first division north side Holland FC and has gone straight into their squad for the game against AFC Pegasus tonight.

Cureton hit the 400-goal milestone last season as player-manager of Great Cornard-based outfit Kings Park Rangers.

He only needs to make seven more appearances to clock up an incredible 1,100 games.

And earlier in the 2025/26 campaign, the ex-U’s favourite became the first ever player to score in each of English football’s top ten tiers.

Earlier this summer, Cureton helped England Veterans win the Seniors World Cup in Thailand, where he enjoyed success alongside with fellow ex-U's players Karl Duguid and Greg Halford.

Cureton started four out of the five games for England and scored one of their goals in their 4-0 win over France, in the final.

Cureton, who made his Premier League debut with Norwich back in 1994, made more than 50 appearances for Colchester.

He scored 31 goals for the U’s before leaving to re-join the Canaries, in 2007 and went on to play for the likes of Exeter City, Leyton Orient and Cheltenham Town.

Cureton will next month release his new book, ‘Last of the Goalhangers: The Man Who Completed English Football’.

The book, written alongside Sid Lambert, will be released on September 17.
