The squad building at Braintree Town has continued to gather pace with the signing of midfielder Aaron Lamont.

The 23-year-old is the latest new addition to be brought in by new manager Glen Driver and follows goalkeeper Michael Johnson, striker Tom Richardson, winger Trey Charles and defender Jake Hutchings.

Lamont was a product of the Queens Park Rangers Academy and has had National League South - where Braintree will be playing next season - experience at two previous clubs.

He was in the Truro side that made the National League South play-offs and reached the first round proper of the FA Cup during 2017/18 season.

After leaving Truro, he had a spell last season with National League South side Hampton and Richmond Borough before joining Bostik League premier division side Kingstonian where he made a positive impact.

Driver said: "Aaron is a very popular central attacking midfield player with an eye for goal.

"I'm so pleased that Aaron has agreed to join us: he is a player I have watched closely and a player who fits into the way we will be playing.

"I'm sure he will soon become a fans' favourite with his work rate and ability both on and off the ball."
