THERE will be an exciting blend of youth and experience in the Witham Town dugout next season as new manager Marc Benterman has built his coaching team for his first season at the helm.

Having been announced as Witham's new boss last week, Benterman quickly revealed that popular former player Paul King would be a part of his management team, but he has now added Leon Moore as his assistant manager and brought in Enrico Tiritera as head coach.

Moore is someone who Benterman knows well after the pair spent time together in charge at Debenham LC in the Thurlow Nunn League and he is pleased to link up again with a coach who he holds in such high regard.

Benterman said: "Leon and I have worked together before when we were at Debenham together, so we know each other very well. "It's important to have someone alongside you that you trust and, like Kingy, we go a long way back and there is that level of trust there.

"I can't speak highly enough of Leon.

"He was part of a successful time at Debenham and it's very important to bring in people who buy into what you are about. "He is a very hungry coach and, like me, is chomping at the bit to get going."

But while Benterman was pleased to have Moore and King alongside him, he recognised the need to add a bit more experience to his coaching team and is thrilled that Tiritera will be coming in as head coach.

The Town boss added: "I have known Enrico for years and he's had a wealth of experience working at Southend Academy and the West Ham Academy as well as managing numerous non-league clubs.

"He's been at clubs like Romford, Barkingside and Great Wakering and was coaching at Basildon last year.

"He has vast experience.

"We had a meeting last week, which lasted about four hours and I became a so much more knowledgeable person just from that and we are all learning from him already.

"I'm only 37, Leon is 32 and Kingy is 37 so you have three people there under the age of 40 and we need someone of Enrico's experience around us. "He will tie us all together and make us a more successful team.

"I feel it's so important to have people like that around me because as a young coach, you are always learning."

Benterman also said that he was hoping to appoint a goalkeeping coach and expected to be able to announce that soon.

Meanwhile, Witham Town have announced that Keith Dicker has been appointed as manager of the club's under-23s team that play in the Bostik Development League.
