Hakan Hayrettin's first game in charge as caretaker manager of Braintree Town gave us one of the more memorable 90 minutes of action of the Vanarama National League season so far as the Iron recorded a 2-2 draw at leaders Salford City.

With Salford scoring with barely a minute of the game gone, it looked a forlorn hope for bottom-placed Braintree, but a sterling response from the players saw them score twice thanks to two Mohamed Bettamer goals and have their big-spending hosts on the ropes heading past the 90 minute mark.

A desperate goal in injury-time was needed by the leaders to scramble a point from the encounter, but despite the disappointment of conceding late, Braintree should look back with pride at what they achieved and Jon Weaver captured the afternoon on camera with some great pictures.
