WAYNE Brown's Maldon & Tiptree side stayed top of Bostik League division north as a five-star show saw off ten-man Grays Athletic.

Grays were reduced numerically after the sending off of Joao Carlos in the 22nd minute and the Jammers took full advantage by firing five past their Essex rivals in a 5-0 victory.

De-Carrey Sheriff got the scoring under way with a 29th minute strike and added a second in the 68th minute, between which Shane Cojocarel and Chris Miller found the back of the net and Jack Cawley added a fifth on 79 minutes.

Elsewhere, Coggeshall Town climbed to fourth in the table thanks to a 3-0 win at Soham Town Rangers.

A 31st minute goal from Aaron Condon got the Seedgrowers going and goals after half-time by Ross Wall and Nnamdi Nwachucku wrapped up a second league success for Coggeshall.

Witham Town, who had been beaten by Coggeshall in their last outing, picked up a point against visiting Mildenhall Town at the Village Glass Stadium.

The Suffolk side opened the scoring when John Sands capitalised on a slip at the back and unleashed a fierce drive past Luca Collins on the half-hour mark, but Witham responded well after the break.

It was an improved performance in the second half and they got their rewards when L'Heureux Menga's shot was deflected in on 65 minutes to cap a good break from the hosts.

However, a strong finish from Mildenhall saw them almost grab a late winner and only an outstanding point-blank save from Collins denied Jarid Robson at the end.

Heybridge Swifts were beaten 3-0 at home by Dereham Town.

In the premier division, Brightlingsea Regent came from behind to take a point at Corinthian Casuals.

The hosts were leading at the break but had been reduced to ten men just before half-time and Matt Baxter fired home an equaliser on 47 minutes to earn the R's a draw on the road.
