ON a very cold and icy day, the winners of Burnham Golf Club's winter league B2 were Dan Munro and Paul Lindus, with 41 points.

In second place, winning on countback, with 40 points, were Will Davey and Simon Orin.

Third place went to Kevin Church and Martin Scott.

The winners of League B1, with 41 points, were Jon Sparkes and George Ketley, with Walter Thompson and Mac McGlone second on 39.

After a foggy start on Sunday, the Turkey Trot got underway at 9am.

It took place in very icy conditions and the eventual winners were Mark Langley and Mark Donnelly, with a very impressive 43 points.

The captain and all who played would once again like to thank John Humphreys, who every year very kindly donates the turkeys for the main prizes.

The weather was kind to the ladies last Thursday.

Although cold, the sun shone through for the nine-hole Christmas American Foursomes, with The Yanks playing The Feds.

It was played in pairs for the four balls and festive hats and jumpers were the order of the day, followed by a wonderful Christmas lunch.

The Feds won with 143 points, with the Yankies on 142.

Front nine: 1st Moira Roberts and Jae Bray 18 points, 2nd Viv Locke and Hilary Skeens 17 points OCB from 3rd captain Mary Hull and vice Claire Brown.

Back nine: 1st Shelagh Edwards and Cally Wilkin 19 points, 2nd Denise Howat and Linda Sinden 17 points OCB from 3rd Helen Ford and Sue Frost from 4th Jean Bailey and Linda Stevens.

The cadets had a fantastic four, taking on the blue tees in the seventh round of the Winter League.

Result: 1st Matthew Turner 23 points, 2nd Joey Green, 3rd captain Rach and 4th Charlie Turner.
