CHARLIE Powell was a deserved winner of Five Lakes Golf Club's Carter Cup.
Powell (11) scored 41 points to win the annual men's 18-hole stableford, sponsored by club professional Gary Carter.
Powell finished three points ahead of runner-up Steve Harris (20), who scored 38 points.
Alan Hayes (19) was third on countback with 37 points after achieving a better back nine holes score to push Alan Garnett (9) into fourth place.
Three players scored 35 points - Les Powell, Peter Dunnett and Danny Owen,
Birdie twos were won by Matt Foot on the fourth and an eagle on the 18th par five, Dean Vass and Trevor Harris on the eighth and Keith Codling who went very close to a hole-in-one on the 16th.
