MALDON Rugby Club's under-11s are celebrating after lifting the winners' plate at the Sudbury Rugby festival.
They won their games against Stowmarket (4-0), Sudbury (8-0) and Haverhill (4-2) and drew 2-2 with Ipswich YM.
Maldon's passing was spot on, the defence was tight and the tackling was confident, so their plate victory was thoroughly deserved.
They look forward now with confidence in their final competition of the season in the Essex Cup later this month, on the back of some impressive results.
Maldon have thanked their friends at Sudbury RC for a fun festival which captured the true spirit of rugby.
Results: Maldon 4-0 Stowmarket, Maldon 4-2 Haverhill, Maldon 8-0 Sudbury, Maldon 2-2 Ipswich YM.
Maldon under-17s claimed the bragging rights in their derby fixture against Burnham on Crouch Colts.
They won 24-10 against their neighbours, at Drapers Farm.
