MANAGER Keith Wilson was left livid and despondent by Heybridge Swifts’ defeat at Tilbury.
Swifts fell to 3-0 defeat and were reduced to nine men at Tilbury.
Wilson, however, was angered by the referee’s decision not to send off Tilbury keeper Dean Driscoll after he handled the ball outside the box after Neil Richmond had gone around him.
Wilson said: “Up until they scored we had been doing really well.
“But they scored a screamer to take the lead.
“Then ten to 13 minutes into the second half we were on top.
“We get a chance with Richmond, who pokes the ball around the keeper and he then handles it outside the box.
“He had to have had a red card, the referee told me the defenders were coming round, but if Richmond gets to the ball then it’s in the back of the net.
“I am despondent and livid.
“I know referees make mistakes but they have got to get the big decisions right.
“The decision knocked the stuffing out of us and they went on to score a second.
“The third goal epitomised our season so far, the ball was blocked and nine times out of ten it would have gone out but it loops up and goes in the goal.”
