KEITH Wilson is on the verge of adding two more players to his Burnham Ramblers squad.

The Leslie Field boss has just re-signed former goalkeeper Matt Belcher, after a spell travelling around Australia.

And another duo could join in time for Saturday’s Ryman League division one north match at Aveley.

Midfielder Brad Williams is set to arrive from Basildon United and striker Mark Sisson from Southend Manor.

Ramblers made official seven-day approaches for the pair and have now been giving the green light for discussions to begin.

Wilson said: “It’s more competition for our squad and I’m pretty sure both will sign.

“We made approaches but they were waived by Basildon and Southend Manor.

“That means we’re free to talk to the players and I doubt there will be any hitches.

“As long as the paperwork goes through in time, both should be in our squad for Saturday.”

Wilson was delighted to make his first signing of the year, bringing keeper Belcher back to Leslie Field.

Prior to leaving in October 2012, he was Ramblers’ first-choice shot-stopper and he will now provide competition for regular number one Louis Godwin-Green.

“When I knew Mark was available, I had no hesitation in signing him,” said the Burnham boss.

“He’s a top-quality goalkeeper and they’re not always easy to find.

“He’ll provide competition and certainly make us stronger.

“He knows he’s not going to walk straight back into the team, but goal was the one position where we didn’t really have any competition.

“You have to have that, to have someone breathing down your neck.”

Meanwhile, Wilson also confirmed that Lee Pleasance has gone on loan to Thurlow Nunn League side Woodbridge Town.

He has been snapped up by new Woodpeckers boss – and ex-Ramblers coach – Lee Elliston.

Reece Brandon could soon follow him to the Suffolk club.

Burnham drew 1-1 at home to Dereham Town on Saturday.

Neil Richmond scored their equalising goal.

Ramblers battled back to take a 3-2 win at Waltham Forest on Wednesday night .

Ramblers opened the scoring but Forest took a 2-1 lead, with two quick goals, before the visitors fired themselves in front.

Neil Richmond bagged a brace while Marc Gorbell added the other goal.

Wilson’s side visit Aveley on Saturday before hosting Tilbury next Tuesday.
