SETON Tuning Yamaha have solved their rider crisis after signing Danny Buchan.

The Colchester-based team had been left without a rider following Graeme Gowland’s decision to quit the team, last week. But after a successful test ride last Friday, Burnham-on-Crouch’s Buchan will represent them at their forthcoming rounds at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park.

Buchan, 20, who last week left Quattro Plant Kawasaki, will be looking to recapture the kind of form that saw him finish runner-up in the 2011 National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Buchan moved up to the British Superbike class last year and secured a highest-placed finish of fourth at Cadwell Park, in his debut season.

He said: “I’m really excited to jump on the 600 and get the enjoyment back and the smile on my face.

“I’ve worked alongside Phil back in 2007, so he knows how I work and we get along great.

“Also the test we did last week proved to be positive and I really enjoyed the team atmosphere.

“I’m looking forward to the first competitive outing at Oulton Park.”

Gowland left Seton Tuning Yamaha after their main sponsor pulled out, resulting in an uncertain financial future for the team.

The team have been thrown a lifeline for the next two rounds by team sponsors Excel Skip Hire and Swift Moto.

However, Seton is still actively searching for funds to see the team through to the 2013 season finale at Brands Hatch in October.

Buchan will make his racing debut for Seton Tuning Yamaha at Oulton Park, over the weekend of August 9-11.
