A FATHER-of-two has been spared jail in order to continue “providing for his kids” despite being found with 200 indecent images of children.

Marcin Bednarski appeared in court over the vile abuse images after police raided his home in 2019.

The 46-year-old of Collier Way, Southend, had nearly 120 category A images - the most serious kind of indecent image - stashed on his computer and other electronic devices at his home.

During the raid by Essex Police, on June 16, 2019, offices seized various computer equipment from the home after reports that the IP address had been used to access the indecent material.

Following analysis of the systems, 118 category A images were found, along with 68 category B images, eight images of category C as well as an image showing an “extreme pornographic image”.

Bednarski went on to admit four counts of having indecent photos of children and was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court on Friday.

During the sentencing, Judge Samantha Leigh said: “There were cleaning programmes on the computer, programmes freely available and freely purchased.

“Compared to other cases we see these are relatively low numbers of images, but that doesn’t mean that these don’t show abuse.

“The children have to live with that for the rest of their lives.

“One image is always too many.”

Mitigating, Sasha Bailey recommended the court impose a community order for Bednarski.

Judge Leigh imposed an order for three years, and also imposed a sexual harm prevention order, meaning Bednarski will be required to register his devices with the police.

Judge Leigh added: “I make no order for costs because you’re not working and you have two children as well that need to be provided for.

“You have the support of your wife.

“You are separated for the moment but she is still supportive, and you have a good relationship with the children.”

Bednarski was given 150 hours of unpaid work and 90 days of rehabilitation as part of his community order, to be completed within three years.
