ALMOST 30 travellers have pitched up outside a leisure centre.
The dozens of caravans arrived at the Rayleigh leisure centre on Friday evening, but the Echo understands the number of caravans on the site has almost doubled since.
The encampment is believed to be the fifth at the leisure centre in under a year.
James Newport, Lib Dem councillor of the Downhall and Rawreth ward, described the latest encampment as "groundhog day."

Essex Police are believed to have attended the leisure centre on Saturday.
Mr Newport said: "It's really causing a lot of stress for people nearby.
"The situation needs to be sorted out.
"There is nearly 30 down there now, it increased massively on Sunday."
