A WEAPON has been recovered after an assault in Southend.
Essex Police were called to an incident in Southend last night where someone was assaulted.
Officers along with staff from the Operational Support Group - which helps with serious crimes across Essex - arrived at the scene and pursued a suspect.
A a 24-year-old man was later arrested at a train station following the incident.
He remains in custody for questioning, and an "adaptable bat" weapon was seized by the police.
