A DRIVER will face no further action after a fatal crash in Basildon.
Mustafa Ozdemir, 52, of Great Mistley in Basildon, was due to stand trial after being charged with causing death by careless driving.
It was reported that Mr Ozdemir’s Volkswagen Caddy had been involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Zafira on Burnt Mills Road at 7.10pm on July 21, 2018.
Sadly, the driver of the Zafira, 39-year-old Ryan Pinsent, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Ozdemir previously appeared at Basildon Crown Court in March where he was charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention.
He denied the charge and a trial date was set for September 28.
However, following several further hearings, no evidence was offered against Mr Ozdemir by the Crown Prosecution Service on Tuesday July 28 at the same court, and the case was dismissed against him.
Essex Police said officers' thoughts were with Mr Pinsent’s family during this time.
Ryan and Rebecca Pinsent
Ryan Pinsent was working as a mechanic before his death and was married to wife Rebecca for almost four years. They had a son and daughter.
They were aged just two and three-years-old at the time of his death.
Paying tribute to him shortly after his death, Rebecca Pinsent said: “He was larger than life, and very confident.
“He was a big guy, at 6ft 5 and had a character to match.
“Ryan, was hard working, down to earth and loved his family.”
Ms Pinsent added that her husband had been “fiercely loyal”.
