A MAN was stabbed twice after he refused to give his watch to two thugs.

An investigation has been launched after a man suffered serious injuries in a late night stabbing on Monday, near Steeple View, in Laindon.

Essex Police has confirmed the victim, in his 20s, was approached by two men who demanded his watch.

When he refused, he was stabbed in the hand and the back.

The ambulance service confirmed earlier today a man was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating following an attempted robbery in a park in Laindon, on Monday night.

"The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by two men at around 9.45pm on 13 July.

"They demanded his watch and, when he refused, he was stabbed to the hand and back.

"He suffered serious injuries.

"We conducted a thorough search of the area and are continuing to support the victim whilst our enquiries are ongoing.
