A MAN exposed himself to a woman at high street bus stop during her morning commute.

The man was seen standing behind a van, acting suspiciously near to the bus stop in High Street, Canvey, before exposing himself to the woman.

It comes days after similar incident at the Sainsbury’s car park, off Foksville Road, Canvey, when the man got out of his car and carried out an indecent act in front a woman in her vehicle.

The men in both incidents are described as being tall with light-coloured hair.

The woman posted on Facebook to warn others about the incident.

The 53-year-old from Canvey said: “I was standing at the bus stop outside Maces store around 6.25am.

“There was a van parked outside the hairdressers next door.

“A man was behind the van and kept peering out, then he got out and stood there.

“One leg of his shorts was pulled up with certain parts of his anatomy hanging out.

“I don’t know if this was an accident, but he was acting suspiciously.

“I didn’t show any reaction to him and turned away immediately.

“I didn’t really take in what he looked like [as] it was early in the morning.

“All I knew was that he was acting very suspiciously.”

It has been met with concern in the island community.

Councillors said residents have called for vigilance in light of the two incidents.

Jay Blissett, Tory councillor for Canvey West, said: “It is quite concerning that there have been two incidents in a few weeks.

“These incidents can escalate and that is what is concerning.

“If we can get a really good description of the man, then it can help police to find him.

“I think this sort of thing could disturb young people in particular.

“I think it’s disgusting and isn’t the sort of thing we want happening on Canvey, or any where for that matter.”

He added: “I would say people should be more vigilant and aware of what is going on around them. I would also encourage anyone with any information to contact Essex Police.”

Residents reacted with anger to the woman’s online warning about the latest incident.

Barry Humphreys posted: “We can’t have this sort of thing going on in our community.

“I think this man needs to be caught and dealt with.”
