Southend's best and worst GP practices, as voted for by patients, have been revealed.

The GP Patient Survey 2019 asked residents for their views on their doctors’ surgeries across a range of different areas.

A survey of more than 3,000 patients across 28 surgeries who responded to a questionnaire, found 80 per cent rated their surgery as fairly good or good. The national average is 83 per cent.

Some 8 per cent rated theirs as poor. The national average is 6 per cent.

The lowest-performing surgery is Queensway Medical Centre, with 68 per cent whilst the highest-rated is The Leigh Surgery, with 96 per cent.

As well as giving an overall rating, patients were also asked how easy it is to get in touch with their surgery on the phone.

Set against a national average of 68 per cent, just 59 per cent of Southend patients said it was 'easy' to get through, with 41 per cent saying it was 'not easy', set against a national average of 32 per cent.
