A TEENAGER was terrified after armed men stole his car at knifepoint while he was waiting in a pub car park.

Police are appealing for information to catch the carjackers who robbed an 18-year-old and then forced him out of his car and stole that as well.

The car was later found dumped, but the thugs remain at large.

The 18-year-old victim was sitting in the blue Fiat Punto at the Meadow Lark pub, in Artillery Avenue, Shoebury, at about 2.25pm on Monday, July 1, when he was approached by two men, one of whom had a knife.

The owner of the car had stopped to let them pass when they changed direction and came over to him.

One leant into the car and took money and cigarettes from the vehicle.

They then forced the teenager out and stole the car after threatening him with the knife.

It is understood the knife was pulled and put through the open window before the teen did what he was told and got out.

The vehicle was found a short time later in Toucan Close.

The first man was described as black, slim, 5ft 11ins tall, with a shaved head and stubble. He wore a white T-shirt.

The second man, who had the knife, was described as black, slim, 6ft 1ins tall, with black hair in braids. He wore a black T-shirt and shorts.

A passport was also stolen during the robbery.

Police are keen to find any witnesses who may have information.

An Essex Police spokesman for Essex Police said: “If you saw anything, have CCTV or dash cam footage, or have any other information please call Essex Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/103738/19.

“Y Alternatively, you can share information by calling contacting the Crimestoppers charity 100per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111. You can also use the anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information.”
