A seventh man has been charged in connection with the death of Trevor Cowan in Grays.
Mr Cowan, 35, was taken ill at an address in Parsonage Road on Thursday, April 18 and, later died in hospital.
Police investigations have established Mr Cowan had been assaulted on the evening of April 12.
Stephen Moloney, 46, of Crow Lane, Romford, was originally arrested on Wednesday 29 May and released on bail.
He was re-arrested yesterday and has been charged with murder, aggravated burglary with intent, and two counts of assault by beating.
He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today.
Six other men charged in connection with Mr Cowan’s death are due to appear at Basildon Crown Court tomorrow.
