A power supply firm hope to have a road reopened by tomorrow after emergency works.
Lifstan Way, Southend is closed as UK Power Networks carries out works.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: "The roadworks and temporary road closure were needed for our engineers to carry out emergency cable repairs to maintain reliable power supplies for local homes and businesses.
"We are aiming to reopen the road by Wednesday and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
