HAVING enjoyed unseasonably warm weather over the last week, south Essex could be plunged back into the depths of winter with high winds and heavy showers.

The Met Office has predicted a turn in the weather from tomorrow onwards.

Tomorrow could see scattered heavy, and perhaps thundery, showers developing.

Through the afternoon these are expected to replaced by cloudy conditions, and generally light showers.

Temperatures will, though, remain above average with a maximum temperature 17°C.

And it isn't expected to get any better over the weekend.

Forecasters believe Saturday will become very windy, with showers or longer spells of rain.

It will also feel cold.

But as Sunday ends and Monday approaches, winds will turn lighter and it will be less cold.

The outlook for the start of the week is largely dry with some bright or sunny spells.
