The annual Thurrock Business Conference is returning and offering businesses chance to find out about exporting to international markets.

Now in its ninth year, the event will have a theme of the benefits of importing and exporting in growing a business.

It will be taking place at Orsett Hall on Wednesday March 6.

The event runs from 7.30am until 10.30am and is followed by the BEST Growth Hub roadshow from 10.30am until 1pm, which will offer businesses advice about the support and funding available to them.

Guest speaker John Williams, CEO of Maritime Transport will be share his experiences of establishing and growing successful transport ventures across the UK.

There will also be networking opportunities and an update from Thurrock Council about exciting projects underway and in the pipeline in the borough.

Perry Glading, chair of the Thurrock Business Board, said: “Thurrock is very well connected, with its three international ports accounting for 85 per cent of the Port of London’s trade and six international airports within an hour’s drive.

“As referred to in the borough’s coat of arms, ‘Along the Thames to all people of the world’, Thurrock plays a vital role in connecting the UK to the rest of the world.

“I am delighted this year’s ninth annual Thurrock Business Conference will build on that and provide businesses with advice on how they can utilise the borough’s strategic transport links to grow through importing and exporting.

“The event will also provide businesses with the opportunity to find out more about the fantastic support available to them and I would encourage them to register.”
