A MAN was hit by a lorry and suffered serious leg injury.
Essex Police arrested a man at the scene, North Road, in South Ockendon, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The 39-year-old from South Ockendon has been released under investigation.
The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
The incident took place at roughly 3.40pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called at 3.40pm, Thursday, January 10, with reports of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
“A 39-year-old man from South Ockendon was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence and he has been released under investigation”.
